NEW COVID CLASS PROCEDURES FOR GRAEME HIGH SCHOOL & BO'NESS ACADEMY

Due to the stringent new class procedures, SwimVibe will be running 25-minute classes with a 5-minute class change-over period. Therefore, we require parents and swimmers to strictly adhere to the procedures listed below. Unfortunately, our coordinators and teachers will not have time to enter into lengthy discussions. If you have any questions, please email the office prior to arriving at the pool. SwimVibe needs to safely and efficiently change over classes with lots of people in a very short space of time in a restricted area with temporary Covid related facilities. In order for us to operate under these circumstances we would really appreciate your cooperation and consideration. Thank you.

UPDATE: IF SOMEONE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD IS REQUIRED TO ISOLATE

If someone in your household tests positive, please DO NOT attend your lesson for 10 days AND do a lateral flow test.

If someone in your household has been in contact with someone positive and has been asked to isolate, please DO NOT attend your lesson for a week AND do a lateral flow test before the next lesson if less than 10 days. This may seem harsh but due to the nature of our business we can’t afford to take any chances of having to close again.

BEFORE THE LESSON

  • Swimmers should arrive ready to swim, with swimwear under their clothing.

  • Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to your lesson time.

  • Strictly one parent/guardian per family may enter the building.

  • Face masks/coverings must be worn at all times in the building by everyone over the age of 11 years. This does not apply to parents/guardians/swimmers when in the swimming pool.

  • Sanitise on entry to the school building and pool area.

  • At Graeme High School, all customers will be met in the school social area by our customer care coordinator who will welcome you, take a register and ask you to line up next to a coloured marker matching your class zone (red or blue). At Bo'ness Academy, all customers will be met in the pool entrance area at the normal main pool entrance/exit door.

  • You will be required to remove outdoor shoes and swimmers clothing in the social/entrance areas prior to entering the pool area. Keep all personal items with you in a kit bag. Children should bring their own goggles as we are unable to lend out goggles. These can be purchased at the pool for £10. Place fitted goggles on head ready to pull over eyes.

  • The customer care coordinator will direct you into the pool area at the correct time.

  • Anyone arriving later than the class start time will not be admitted to the pool area and therefore will not be able to attend the lesson.

DURING THE LESSON

  • Swimmers will be directed to the designated class zone by the poolside coordinator. Please remember if you are in a BLUE or RED class.

  • Children aged 8 years and under may be accompanied by one parent/guardian into the pool area. Parents/guardians will fall into one of two categories: See your class confirmation email

Adult-assisted class – you will be in the pool with your child

Supporting spectator class – you will be seated on poolside and assisting your child to dry and change

  • All other parents for children aged over 8 years must exit the building during lessons.

  • Adult-assisted classes: swim bags containing all belongings should be placed on stools provided on poolside. Follow the directions of the class teacher to sit beside coloured markers on the side of the pool.

  • Supporting spectator classes: parents/guardians to be seated on allocated stools on poolside and wait for the class teacher to call swimmers to sit beside coloured markers on the side of the pool.

  • There will be no sharing of equipment. Children will be allocated their own equipment to use.

  • All surfaces and equipment used will be cleaned between classes by the coordinators and teachers.

  • Two toilets in the female change rooms will be available for toilet use only.

AFTER THE LESSON

  • A whistle will be blown by the poolside coordinator at the end of the lesson. Supporting spectator parents/guardians will meet their children where they climb out the pool, supervised by a teacher.

  • All swimmers should then move down to the far wall and will have TWO minutes to promptly dry off, swimsuits can be discreetly removed and onesie’s/robes slipped on.

  • Parents/guardians of children over 8 may enter the building again to collect their child at the pool exit door off the social area (Graeme High) or the entrance area (Bo'ness). Please do not enter poolside at any time.

  • Adult-assisted parents/guardians should collect their bag and move promptly with their swimmers to the changing tents.

  • Change rooms and showers will NOT be available.

  • Where possible parents/guardians must maintain adequate social distancing at all times.

  • Please exit the building promptly via the same entrance/exit to the carpark.
